A Story That Brings Hope

The film is far from perfect. The first half has some weak moments that make you question where it’s headed. But as the story progresses, Bhatt finds his footing. He presents a deeply emotional tale while subtly reflecting on his own journey as a filmmaker.

A Story Told With Depth

The film moves back and forth in time smoothly. Even though it runs for nearly three hours, the story remains engaging. It focuses on Dr. Murdia’s journey and his relationship with his wife, Indira, played by Adah Sharma. Adah delivers a lively performance, which balances well with Ishwak Singh, who plays the younger version of Dr. Murdia with calmness and depth.

In the later years, Anupam Kher takes over the role of Dr. Murdia. As always, he delivers a strong and believable performance. The transition between Ishwak Singh and Anupam Kher is handled well, making the character’s journey feel natural.

A Powerful Courtroom Drama

One of the most impactful moments in the film comes from Durgesh Kumar, who plays a father testifying against his own son in a courtroom. His son, played by Meherzan Mazda, betrays him, leading to an emotional confrontation.

When Durgesh Kumar calls his son a “snake,” the moment hits hard. The film even draws comparisons to Aurangzeb, adding a historical touch to the family conflict. This scene is one of the most well-written parts of the movie.

Esha Deol’s Underused Talent

Esha Deol plays the fertility doctor’s lawyer. She delivers a strong performance but, unfortunately, has very little screen time. Instead of actively participating in the case, she is mostly seen sitting in the courtroom while Dr. Murdia defends himself. A missed opportunity!

Final Verdict

Despite some flaws, Tumko Meri Kasam is an emotionally touching film. The storytelling could have been tighter, especially in the first half, but it finds its rhythm in key emotional moments. The performances, particularly by Anupam Kher, Ishwak Singh, and Durgesh Kumar, bring life to the story.

If you enjoy biopics that focus on human struggles and triumphs, this one is worth watching.
