But now, after years of silence, Imran has finally opened up about his divorce from Avantika Malik, revealing the real reason behind their separation.

Imran started dating Avantika when he was just 19 years old. At the peak of his career, he married her in 2011. The couple later became parents to a daughter named Imara. Everything seemed perfect until 2019, when the news of their separation shocked fans.

In a recent interview with Filmfare, Imran Khan shared the real reason behind their divorce. He said that the relationship started at a young age with good intentions, but over time, things changed.

“When a relationship begins during teenage years, your habits and behavior often remain stuck in that phase,” Imran explained.
He added that both he and Avantika went through personal changes as they grew older. Unfortunately, they couldn’t encourage each other to stay together in the relationship. At the time of separation, Imran was also working on his mental health.
💕 A Romantic Proposal Straight From a Movie
Imran and Avantika’s love story began in Los Angeles, where he was studying acting. They bonded over their love for pets, especially dogs and puppies.
Their friendship quickly turned into love. Imran proposed to Avantika in a romantic and dreamy way—by decorating her room with candles and flowers and then popping the question. It was a moment both of them cherished forever.
👨👧 Sharing Custody of Their Daughter Imara
After the divorce, the couple decided to co-parent their daughter Imara. They share her custody with mutual understanding. Imara stays with Imran from Thursday to Sunday, and the rest of the week she lives with her mother Avantika.
In a past interview, Imran said,
“I take full care of my daughter. I put her to sleep, feed her, teach her. I do it all myself.”
