“They think you are Suchitra Sen’s granddaughter, acting must be in her blood. it’s not like that. I never took any formal training. Of course, the first break is easy and many people don’t make it after their first film. It depends on your luck and your stars. First break will be easy for any star kid. After that, it’s tough and you have to sustain yourself and carve a niche for yourself. There is a lot of competition, which is cutthroat. There is more pressure and expectation to perform on a star kid than on a newcomer.”
Raima Sen once talked about the influence of her mother and grandmother on her acting
In another interview with The Hindu, Raima once talked about the acting influence of her mother and grandmother on her career. He also revealed the strengths and limitations of his identity due to his family members being involved in the acting business. He added:
“I always subconsciously wanted to get into acting. Because I saw my mother. I used to go with him. I have done some work with my mother and grandmother as a child artiste. Initially, when I entered films, there was a lot of expectations and pressure because I was the daughter of Munmun Sen, granddaughter of Suchitra Sen. Would I be able to maintain my grandmother’s reputation, that was the question. Till Chokher Bali I felt that I was surrounded by questions. Only after that I became Raima Sen. In Bengal they think I look like my grandmother. So, in my photoshoots and also in my films, they try to do my eye makeup accordingly, so I look like them. He also approached me to do my grandmother’s biopic. There will always be comparisons in Bengal. But now it has become a kind of blessing. I am happy to be compared to my grandmother.”
