Chhota Bheem is one of India’s most loved animated superhero series. Directed by Rajiv Chilaka, a live-action film based on this popular character, titled Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan, will release in theatres on May 31. The film stars Anupam Kher, Makrand Deshpande, Sanjay Bishnoi and Yagya Bhasin in lead roles.
The story features Bheem and his friends who travel 1000 years back to Sonapur to stop the evil demon Damyaan from achieving immortality. As they race against time, the final battle with Damyaan will decide the fate of humanity.

The film begins with the threat of Damyaan rising. Skandi and Takshika go to the ruins of Sonapur to summon him, but they realise that they need a pure heart and brave soul to awaken Damyaan. The story then shifts to Chhota Bheem’s heroism as he fights off wolves in the snowy mountain landscape. The background music of Dum Hai enhances every frame. Meanwhile, in Dholakpur, Kalia, Dholu Bholu, Chutki, Jaggu and Raju are creating havoc with their mischievous activities.

Once Bheem returns to Dholakpur, King Indraverma instructs him and his friends to search for Sonapur, a land rich in gold and made of magic. They fall into a trap set by Skandi and Takshika, and Damyaan is left behind. Bheem must now fight Damyaan with the help of Guru Shambhu, who defeated him 1,000 years ago. The second part focuses on how Chhota Bheem and his friends travel back 1,000 years to stop Damyaan from carrying out his evil plans.
Anupam Kher has given a brilliant performance in the role of Guru Shambhu, which was liked by both young and old audiences. Supporting actors Makrand Deshpande, Navneet Kaur, Megha Chilaka and Mukesh Chhabra have brought depth to their roles. Yagya Bhasin, who is playing the lead role, has given a strong performance.

Producer and director Rajiv Chilaka has effectively brought the world of Chhota Bheem to life. The second half of the film is an action-packed thriller with impressive VFX, in which Bheem and his team battle Damyaan and his army.
With action sequences, funny moments, advanced VFX and nostalgic elements, Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan is an engaging film.
