The Malayalam film industry is widely known for delivering top-quality action, crime, and thriller content, and now another intense movie has been added to the list. “Narivetta”, with a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes, has been released in cinemas and is now available in Hindi dubbed version.

Directed by Anuraj Manohar, who has previously worked on films like Bonsai, Grandmaster, The Thriller, and Amen, this movie showcases his mastery once again. The gripping story, written by Abin Joseph, stars some of the best talents from the Malayalam industry, including Tovino Thomas, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Arya Salim, Cheran, Priyamvada Krishnan, and Kumar Setu.

Plot Overview: A Story That Shakes You to the Core

The story of Narivetta is inspired by a real incident that took place in 2003. It revolves around a peaceful tribal community living in a village named Narivetta. Their lives take a dark turn when police authorities begin to interfere in their land and personal space. Soon, their homes are destroyed, and they are subjected to severe torture and brutality.

Faced with such injustice, the tribal people transform and begin to fight back with fierce determination. The film portrays this escalating tension between the tribals and the police in a raw and powerful manner. These scenes are not only thrilling but also deeply disturbing, showcasing the harsh reality of systemic oppression.

The violence shown by the police towards the poor tribal community will send chills down your spine. Whether the tribals manage to reclaim their home or lose everything is something you’ll discover only by watching the film.

Production Quality and Emotional Impact

The film starts off at a slow pace, building the characters and setting up the emotional groundwork. Viewers may need a bit of patience in the beginning, but the post-interval section rewards you with high-intensity sequences and emotional depth.

The climax is deeply moving, and the emotional ending leaves a strong impression. The storytelling is well-structured, and every actor delivers convincing and heartfelt performances. The background score perfectly complements the narrative, enhancing the intensity and emotional tone of the film.

Is It Suitable for Family Viewing?

While the film maintains clean storytelling without any vulgarity, it contains several scenes of brutal violence, typical of an action-thriller. It may not be ideal for children due to its intense and disturbing content.

The movie reminds viewers of “Jai Bhim”, another impactful courtroom and crime thriller that dealt with similar themes of injustice and police brutality. Like Jai Bhim, Narivetta is also based on a true story and seeks to shed light on social issues through compelling storytelling. On IMDb, it holds a strong rating of 8.6, which speaks to its quality.

Final Verdict: A Must-Watch for Crime Thriller Fans

With powerful background music, realistic performances, and a hard-hitting true story, Narivetta offers one of the best crime thriller experiences in recent times. If you’re someone who appreciates films based on true events, with emotionally rich storytelling and social relevance, this movie is definitely worth your time.

It is currently available in theaters with a Hindi dubbed version. Though the dubbing may feel off in a few parts, especially with some character voices not syncing perfectly, the overall content and execution are impressive.

Narivetta is a film that doesn’t just entertain—it makes you think, feel, and question.
