The action-packed Tamil movie Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, was released in theatres on April 10, 2025. The film is not yet available in Hindi dubbed version, but it can be watched in Tamil with English subtitles. Audiences and critics have given mixed reviews so far.
This movie is a full-on mass entertainer, gaining attention mainly because of Ajith Kumar’s strong fan following. Thanks to his popularity, the film earned around ₹28 crore on the first day in Tamil Nadu alone. In comparison, Sunny Deol’s recent movie Jaat made a much lower collection.
Earlier, Ajith Kumar’s film VidaaMuyarchi had collected ₹36–₹37 crore on its opening day. In contrast, the director’s previous movie Mark Antony made only ₹9 crore on day one.

Good Bad Ugly vs Jaat
Ajith’s new movie, with a reported budget of ₹300 crore, is outperforming Sunny Deol’s Jaat, which had a budget of ₹100 crore. While Jaat didn’t receive much love in the Hindi belt, Ajith’s film is being widely appreciated in the South.
Although the story of Jaat doesn’t offer anything new, its presentation is strong, making it a value-for-money film. Interestingly, as Bollywood started copying South Indian films, the South industry began taking inspiration from South Korean cinema.
This is why Good Bad Ugly is an official Tamil remake of the 2019 South Korean movie “Gangster: The Cop, The Devil”. In the second half, the movie features cameos and scenes that resemble styles from South Korea, Hollywood, Bollywood, and even Lollywood. Fans will notice appearances inspired by Money Heist’s Professor, John Wick, Jackie Shroff, and Yogi Babu.

The film is completely over the top. It’s not made for deep thinking, but rather for pure entertainment. If you’re a fan of Ajith Kumar, this movie is a perfect mass masala entertainer and a total paisa vasool experience.
