Directed by Kamel Guemra, the French film Carjackers is now available with Hindi dubbing on Prime Video. This film keeps you engaged, but is it worth your time? Let’s dive into a full review to find out.

Story

The movie revolves around four characters: Nora, Zoe, Steve, and Prestens. These four work at a luxury hotel—some are bartenders, while others work as valet parking attendants or hostesses. The story is quite similar to other films like Dhoom, Chocolate, and Money Heist. Together, they form a gang called “Carjackers” and keep an eye on the wealthy guests of the hotel. They wait for the right moment to loot these guests.

In these types of films, the gang members often say, “One last heist, and then we’re done.” Carjackers follows this trope, but things go wrong when the hotel manager, Elias, is hired to expose the gang. The film then focuses on whether the gang can escape from Elias or not.

What’s Special About ‘Carjackers’?

There isn’t much in Carjackers that feels entirely fresh, but things take an exciting turn when Elias is hired to take out the gang. Nora’s character adds a fresh twist to the film, with a romance angle adding some depth. The second half of the film is much more thrilling, filled with brutality, twists, and turns that keep the suspense high. The performances of the actors are strong, and the movie maintains an intense thriller vibe throughout.

Negative Points

One major drawback of the film is the lack of backstories for the characters. We never learn why these four people are involved in such illegal activities. What happened in their past that led them to this life? What forced them to become part of such a gang? This part of the narrative is left unexplored.

Conclusion

Carjackers is a decent, time-pass film that’s worth a one-time watch. However, if you’re a seasoned moviegoer, there’s nothing new or groundbreaking in it. The car chase scene is particularly exciting, with some intense moments. But, I wouldn’t recommend watching it with family.
