Taking to social media, Karan shared his journey as a producer. He recalled how, after stepping into Dharma in 2003 with Kal Ho Naa Ho, his goal was to support talented filmmakers and storytellers. He admitted that some films worked while others didn’t, but the aim was always to bring entertaining and meaningful cinema.
Karan proudly revealed that this upcoming film marks the 24th debutant director introduced by Dharma. He also pointed out that 90% of these directors are outsiders, taking a subtle dig at critics who accuse Bollywood of favoritism.

A Film That Inspired Karan Johar
The filmmaker confessed that he rarely writes notes before a film’s release. However, this project excited, energized, and inspired him throughout the process. He appreciated the hard work of the director and team, who dedicated four years to the film despite setbacks like the pandemic.
He concluded his message by saying:
“One can never predict commercial success, BUT what I can say with all my heart is that this film is one of Dharma’s proudest films!”
Is This Project Kesari 2?
Fans quickly noticed that Karan’s Instagram post had an orange background, leading to speculation that the film might be Kesari Chapter 2. This sequel, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, is rumored to feature Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday.
The film is said to be based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire, which tells the inspiring story of C. Sankaran Nair. He was a fearless lawyer who took on the British Raj in court to expose the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. His fight for justice played a key role in India’s freedom struggle.
Just moments after Karan’s post, Akshay Kumar also shared something with a similar orange theme. This has only fueled the rumors that Kesari 2 is indeed happening.
