Ajay Devgn’s latest film Raid 2 is doing great business at the box office since its release on May 1, 2025. The film is the sequel to the 2018 hit Raid, and this time it features Vaani Kapoor alongside Devgn. Despite mixed reviews from critics, the movie has been well received by the audience.
Strong Opening Weekend for Raid 2
Raid 2 started strong on Day 1, collecting an impressive ₹19.25 crore. On the second day, there was a slight dip in numbers, with ₹12 crore collected. However, the film bounced back on Day 3, earning ₹18 crore.
This brings the total collection of Raid 2 in three days to ₹49.25 crore, which is excellent considering its total budget of ₹60 crore. With this pace, the film is expected to enter the ₹100 crore club soon.

The Bhootni Falls Behind
Released on the same day, Sanjay Dutt’s The Bhootni struggled to keep up with Raid 2. The horror-comedy film featured a star cast including Mouni Roy, Palak Tiwari, and Sunny Singh, but it failed to make an impact at the box office.
The film managed to earn just ₹65 lakh on Day 1, ₹62 lakh on Day 2, and ₹69 lakh on Day 3, totaling only ₹1.96 crore in three days. Compared to Raid 2, it’s a huge setback.
Ajay Devgn Returns as Amay Patnaik
In Raid 2, Ajay Devgn once again plays the bold and fearless IRS officer Amay Patnaik, the same character from the first film. While Ileana D’Cruz played the female lead in Raid, this time it’s Vaani Kapoor.
Riteish Deshmukh plays the main villain, adding a new edge to the storyline. The film is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also directed the original Raid. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar.
What’s Next for Raid 2?
With a promising opening weekend, Raid 2 is expected to continue its strong performance. Audience word-of-mouth and fan support for Ajay Devgn’s intense role have played a big part in its success. If the momentum continues, the film could become one of the biggest hits of 2025.
