The NCW strongly condemned the comments, stating that such language was unacceptable. They also warned Ranveer and Apoorva that they could face further action if similar remarks were made again. Rahatkar emphasized that the Commission would never tolerate comments that could harm society.
The controversy did not end there. Ranveer, Apoorva, and other people involved in the show, including producers and other comedians, were questioned by the NCW. They were all quizzed for hours. Both Ranveer and Apoorva expressed regret over the situation.
The NCW took this matter seriously, considering the negative social impact of such comments. They took suo motu cognizance, meaning they acted without waiting for a formal complaint. They condemned the statements and said they were looking into legal actions.
In addition, several FIRs were filed against Ranveer Allahbadia for his comment. Despite the criticism, the Supreme Court granted him interim protection from arrest. They called the comment “vulgar” and said it reflected a “dirty mind” that could shame society.
