Why Deepika Was Chosen
According to industry sources, Shah Rukh Khan had suggested three actresses for the female lead role: Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, and Kareena Kapoor. However, due to prior commitments, Katrina and Kareena were unavailable for the project.
This opened the door for Deepika, who was the top choice for both Shah Rukh and the makers. Her strong screen presence and past success with SRK made her the perfect fit.
