Shahid, Kriti, and Rashmika to Star in Cocktail 2 – Here’s What to Expect

The 2012 hit film Cocktail, starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, became a major success and gained a strong fan following. Directed by Homi Adajania, the film is still remembered for its bold storytelling, strong performances, and memorable music.

Now, after more than a decade, the makers are ready with Cocktail 2 — but with a fresh cast, a new story, and a modern twist.

Shooting to Begin Soon

The sequel is currently in the final stages of pre-production. If everything goes according to plan, the shoot is expected to begin next month. Although an official release date has not been announced yet, the project is moving forward quickly.

New Star Cast: Shahid, Kriti & Rashmika Take the Lead

Initially, Kartik Aaryan was considered for the lead role. However, recent updates confirm that Shahid Kapoor will now replace Saif Ali Khan in the new version. Joining him are Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, bringing fresh energy and glamour to the film.

While fans still remember Deepika’s iconic role as Veronica, this sequel will introduce the character again, but with a new actress. The makers are keeping her identity under wraps for now.

Not a Direct Continuation of Cocktail 1

Although titled Cocktail 2, the upcoming film will not continue the original storyline. Instead, it will feature an entirely new plot, new characters, and a modern romantic setting. Director Homi Adajania, who also directed the first part, has confirmed this in a recent interview.
