Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series, Heeramandi: Diamond Market, Released on Netflix in May 2024. The project created a stir among the audiences and received mixed reviews. Most of all, the filmmaker’s niece Sharmin Sehgal, who played the role of ‘Alamzeb’, failed to impress with her acting. She was mercilessly criticized for his boring expressions in the OTT project.
Sharmin Segal says actors are insecure
Amidst all this, a new video of Sharmin Segal has surfaced online, in which she was seen giving an interview with Aditi Rao Hydari and Sonakshi Sinha. In the clip, Sharmin was seen disagreeing with Aditi’s statement about actors. In the clip now going viral, Sharmin was heard saying:

“The caste of actor is insecure.”
Sharmin Sehgal had differences with Aditi Rao Hydari.
However, Sharmin’s statement did not go down well with Aditi, who immediately disagreed with her and said, “No, but actors are human beings.” Sharmin further tried to clarify her stand and mentioned that she would like to keep Sonakshi out of this notion as she feels that Sonakshi is the safest person. She also said that insecurity brings out the best in every actor and added:
“If you’re not insecure, I mean, let’s leave Sona out of this because Sona is the most secure person I know. But really, there’s magic in insecurity. If you’re not insecure, you’re not pushing yourself to a certain limit. There’s fun in insecurity.”
During this, Sonakshi could not stop laughing and her expression caught everyone’s attention. Once again, Sharmin’s statements did not go down well with Aditi Rao Hydari and she showed no hesitation in giving her opinion on it. Responding to Sharmin’s comment, she said:
“No, no, insecurity is horrible. No, I don’t like it.”
Netizens criticize Sharmin Sehgal’s terminology
Soon after the video was shared on Reddit, netizens instantly noticed how Aditi and Sonakshi’s expressions changed when Sharmin spoke. They flooded the comment section and wrote funny comments to troll Sharmin. “Aditi’s eyes and “chalo chhod deti hun” expression,” wrote one user, while another wrote, “Sonakshi was so funny in this. She couldn’t stop laughing.” Meanwhile, a third user said, “Sharmin is so embarrassing.”
