Imtiaz Ali narrated the story of Madhubala’s haunted bungalow

Imtiaz Ali said, ‘Madhubala used to have a house, it was called ‘Kismat Bungalow‘. Now it has been rebuilt. But in the old times, they did not allow people to make films there at night, and people generally did not want to make films there at night because they believed that her (Madhubala’s) ghost lives in that place i.e. the bungalow. Who knows if it was true, but people believed it.’

‘Should I wait for Madhubala’s ghost to come?’

Imtiaz further said, ‘I shot there a lot at night. And I would go alone to the quietest, darkest corners of that house, and I would wait to see if Madhubala’s ghost would come? Although I don’t really believe in spirits, I remember that feeling. It wasn’t just haunted, but there was something else there. There was a sense of awe and romance. It’s an interesting combination.’
